Greataxe Build

Main Abilities

Use the first two stages of Rending Rage most of the time. This gives you strong damage and makes it easier to maintain 3 bleed stacks.

Only use the third stage when you need the root to stop someone from escaping or to set up your E.

Activate Adrenaline Boost before using your E. The extra damage and movement speed make it much easier to stay on top of the target during your spin.

Whirlwind is your main damage ability. Keep hitting the same enemy so the damage continues increasing, and use the movement speed from successful hits to stay close.

Helmet

Use Mercenary Hood for extra control.

The slow helps you keep enemies close, while the damage reduction makes their counter pressure weaker. You can also use it to interrupt important casts or channels.

Chest

Use Fiend Robe before Whirlwind.

The fear prevents the enemy from immediately fighting back or creating distance, giving you a much better chance to land most of your E damage.

Stalker Jacket is another option if you prefer additional damage instead of the fear.

Boots

Use any Cloth Sandals with the second spell.

The movement speed helps you chase while the Energy restoration keeps you from running into Energy problems during longer fights.

Cape

Use Martlock Cape if you want more protection, especially since Fiend Robe is a Cloth Armor.

Avalonian Cape is a more aggressive option if you want additional damage.

Food and Potion

Use Puremist Snapper for more durability and sustain.

Use Gigantify Potions to survive heavy incoming damage while continuing to pressure the enemy.

Alternative Setup

You can replace Mercenary Hood with Royal Helmet and use Hellfire Potions.

Stun the enemy with Royal Helmet, throw the Hellfire Potion under them, then immediately use Whirlwind while they are locked down.

With this version, Smuggler Cape works well because it reduces your potion cooldown and lets you use Hellfire Potions more often.

You can also use Stalker Jacket instead of Fiend Robe with either version.
