Albion Online Chopped Fish Calculator Guide
TABLE OF CONTENTS

The Habonis Chopped Fish Calculator helps you check whether buying fish and turning them into Chopped Fish is actually profitable.

Every fish gives a fixed amount of Chopped Fish. The calculator compares the full cost of buying the fish with the value of the Chopped Fish you receive after marketplace fees.

You can use current market observations or enter the exact prices you see in game.

Quick Start: Check Chopped Fish Profit in Less Than a Minute

For a basic calculation:

  1. Select your server.
  2. Choose where you will buy the fish.
  3. Choose where you will sell the Chopped Fish.
  4. Select the fish you want to chop.
  5. Enter the fish quantity.
  6. Choose how you will buy the fish.
  7. Choose how you will sell the Chopped Fish.
  8. Click Fetch Latest Prices.
  9. Check Profit, ROI and Break Even Price.

That is enough for a basic calculation.

Choose Your Server

Start by selecting your Albion server:

  • Europe
  • Americas
  • Asia

Market prices are different between servers, so make sure you select the server you actually play on.

Choose Where You Buy the Fish

Select the city where you plan to purchase the fish.

The calculator uses the fish price from this market when calculating your cost.

You do not need to sell the Chopped Fish in the same city.

Choose Where You Sell the Chopped Fish

Select the market where you plan to sell the finished Chopped Fish.

This price is used to calculate your final revenue.

Your setup could therefore be:

Buy Fish in City A → Chop Fish → Sell Chopped Fish in City B

Whether transporting between cities is worth it is still something you need to decide yourself.

Select the Fish You Want to Chop

Use the fish search to find the fish you want to calculate.

You can search by:

  • Fish name
  • Tier

For example:

Eel

or:

T7

Select a fish to load its Chopped Fish yield.

Chopped Fish Yield

Every fish produces a fixed amount of Chopped Fish.

For example, different fish may produce:

  • 1 Chopped Fish
  • 4 Chopped Fish
  • 10 Chopped Fish
  • 30 Chopped Fish
  • Much more for certain high value fish

The calculator automatically knows the correct yield for each supported fish.

Once you select a fish, you will see:

1 Fish → X Chopped Fish

You do not need to calculate this manually.

Common and Rare Fish Have Different Yields

Fish of the same tier do not always produce the same amount of Chopped Fish.

Rare fish generally have a much higher Chopped Fish yield than common fish.

This is why you should calculate the exact fish rather than assuming every T5 or T7 fish has the same value when chopped.

The calculator includes common freshwater fish, common saltwater fish, rare fish and supported special fish.

Enter the Fish Quantity

Enter how many fish you plan to chop.

The calculator automatically multiplies your quantity by the selected fish's yield.

For example:

100 Fish × 10 Chopped Fish each = 1,000 Chopped Fish

Changing the quantity updates:

  • Total fish cost
  • Chopped Fish output
  • Marketplace fees
  • Profit
  • ROI
  • Break even price

Choose How You Buy the Fish

There are two ways to calculate your fish purchase:

  • Instant Buy
  • Buy Order

The option you choose changes the market price and fees used in the calculation.

Instant Buy

Choose Instant Buy if you plan to purchase the fish directly from existing sell orders.

The calculator uses the current lowest available sell order as the fish price.

This is usually the fastest way to get the fish.

However, the price may be higher than buying through your own buy order.

Buy Order

Choose Buy Order if you plan to place a buy order and wait for players to sell the fish to you.

The calculator uses the current highest buy order as the price reference.

Buy Orders can reduce your fish cost, but there is no guarantee that your entire order will fill at that price.

Buy Order Setup Fee

When Buy Order is selected, you can include the Buy Order Setup Fee.

This fee increases the actual cost of acquiring the fish.

For realistic calculations, include it if you actually plan to place a market buy order.

Ignoring the fee can make a low margin opportunity look better than it really is.

Choose How You Sell the Chopped Fish

There are also two ways to value your finished Chopped Fish:

  • Sell Order
  • Instant Sell

Sell Order

Choose Sell Order if you plan to list your Chopped Fish on the marketplace and wait for someone to buy it.

The calculator uses the current lowest sell order as the price reference.

You can also include the relevant:

  • Sell Order Setup Fee
  • Sales Tax

A listed price does not guarantee your entire stack will sell at that exact price.

Instant Sell

Choose Instant Sell if you plan to sell your Chopped Fish directly into an existing buy order.

The calculator uses the current highest buy order as the selling price.

This normally gives you your silver faster.

However, the selling price may be lower than using a Sell Order.

Premium

Enable Premium if your account has Premium.

Premium affects the marketplace fee calculation.

If you do not have Premium, disable it so the final result better matches the fees you will actually pay.

Sales Tax

Enable Sales Tax to include the marketplace tax in your calculation.

For a realistic profit calculation, this should normally match how you actually plan to sell the Chopped Fish.

Marketplace fees matter a lot when the profit margin is small.

Fetch Latest Prices

Click Fetch Latest Prices after selecting your fish and market cities.

The calculator loads market observations for:

  • The selected fish
  • Chopped Fish

It uses the correct market price depending on your selected buying and selling strategies.

Check Price Age

Public Albion market data is based on market observations and may not always be current.

The calculator shows how old the available fish and Chopped Fish prices are.

You may see prices that were observed:

  • Minutes ago
  • Hours ago
  • Days ago
  • Or no available data at all

An old fish price or Chopped Fish price can completely change whether chopping is actually profitable.

Use Manual Fish Prices

You can manually enter the Fish Unit Price.

This overrides the available public market price.

Use this when:

  • You checked the fish price in game
  • The public price is outdated
  • Market data is missing
  • You already bought the fish
  • You know exactly how much you will pay

If you already own the fish, you can also enter the price you personally want to value them at.

Use a Manual Chopped Fish Price

You can also manually enter the Chopped Fish Unit Price.

This is useful when:

  • You checked the current market yourself
  • Public data is old
  • Public data is missing
  • You know the price you plan to sell at

Small price changes can turn a profitable chop into a loss.

Understanding the Result

The Result section shows the full calculation for your selected fish.

It includes:

  • Chopped Fish Output
  • Fish Cost
  • Buy Order Fee
  • Gross Output Value
  • Sale Fees
  • Break Even Price
  • Profit
  • ROI

This gives you everything you need to decide whether chopping the selected fish makes sense.

Chopped Fish Output

The output shows exactly how many Chopped Fish you receive from the selected quantity.

The calculation is simple:

Fish Quantity × Chopped Fish Yield = Total Chopped Fish

The calculator automatically uses the correct yield for the selected fish.

Fish Cost

Fish Cost is the market value of all the fish you are purchasing.

For example:

Fish Unit Price × Fish Quantity = Fish Cost

If you are using a Buy Order, the setup fee is shown separately.

Buy Order Fee

If you selected Buy Order and enabled the setup fee, the calculator adds that cost to your purchase.

Your real purchase cost therefore becomes:

Fish Cost + Buy Order Setup Fee

This total is used when calculating your final profit and ROI.

Gross Output Value

Gross Output Value is the value of all the Chopped Fish before selling fees are deducted.

The basic calculation is:

Chopped Fish Quantity × Chopped Fish Unit Price

This is not necessarily the amount of silver you actually keep.

Marketplace fees still need to be deducted.

Sale Fees

Sale Fees include the relevant marketplace costs based on your setup.

Depending on your selling strategy, these can include:

  • Sell Order Setup Fee
  • Sales Tax

The calculator deducts these before calculating your final profit.

Net Chopped Fish Value

The real value of the Chopped Fish is what remains after the relevant selling fees.

In simple terms:

Gross Output Value − Sale Fees = Net Output Value

This is the amount that should be compared against your total fish purchase cost.

Understanding Profit

Profit compares the net value of your Chopped Fish against the total cost of buying the fish.

The basic idea is:

Net Chopped Fish Value − Total Fish Cost = Profit

If the result is positive, the calculation shows a profit.

If the result is negative, chopping that fish under your current assumptions would lose silver.

What Does ROI Mean?

ROI means Return on Investment.

Profit tells you how much silver you make.

ROI tells you how efficient that profit is compared with the amount of silver you spent buying the fish.

Imagine two options both make 100,000 silver.

One requires 500,000 silver worth of fish.

The other requires 5,000,000 silver.

They make the same profit, but the first option uses your silver much more efficiently.

The Simple Rule

Look at both Profit and ROI.

High profit can require a huge investment.

High ROI can be efficient but generate very little total silver if the batch is small.

What Does Break Even per Chopped Fish Mean?

The calculator also shows:

Break Even / Chopped Fish

This is the minimum Chopped Fish price you need to avoid losing silver under your current setup.

The calculation considers:

  • Fish purchase cost
  • Buy Order Setup Fee when applicable
  • Chopped Fish quantity
  • Sell Order Setup Fee when applicable
  • Sales Tax

This makes Break Even Price one of the most useful numbers in the calculator.

Using the Break Even Price

Imagine your calculator shows:

Break Even: 500 Silver per Chopped Fish

If Chopped Fish currently sells for 550 silver, you have some room for profit.

If the market drops to 490 silver, the same chop would lose silver.

The larger the difference between the current market price and your break even price, the more room you have before the opportunity becomes unprofitable.

Compare Different Fish

The best fish to chop is not necessarily the cheapest fish.

A more expensive fish may produce significantly more Chopped Fish.

What matters is the relationship between:

  • Fish price
  • Chopped Fish yield
  • Chopped Fish selling price
  • Marketplace fees

This is why the calculator uses the exact yield of each individual fish.

Try several fish and compare their Profit and ROI before committing your silver.

Buying Fish Cheaply Matters

Your purchase price has a major effect on the result.

The same fish can be:

  • Unprofitable with Instant Buy
  • Profitable through a Buy Order

But Buy Orders also take time to fill.

A theoretical profitable price is only useful if you can actually buy enough fish at that price.

Selling Chopped Fish Matters Too

Your selling method can also completely change the result.

Sell Orders may give you a higher price but can take longer to sell.

Instant Sell gives you immediate liquidity but may reduce your profit.

Use the option that matches what you actually plan to do.

The Best Way to Use the Chopped Fish Calculator

The calculator works best as a decision making tool, not as an automatic instruction to buy fish.

A good workflow is:

  1. Select the fish you want to check.
  2. Enter the quantity you plan to buy.
  3. Choose your buying city.
  4. Choose your selling city.
  5. Select Instant Buy or Buy Order.
  6. Select Sell Order or Instant Sell.
  7. Fetch the latest market prices.
  8. Check the age of both prices.
  9. Replace outdated prices with manual values.
  10. Check Profit.
  11. Check ROI.
  12. Check the Break Even Chopped Fish price.
  13. Verify the prices in Albion.
  14. Then decide whether the fish is worth chopping.

Before You Buy the Fish

The Chopped Fish Calculator can help you compare fish cost, yield, marketplace fees and expected profit.

But no calculator can guarantee future profit.

Albion's market constantly changes.

Before committing a large amount of silver, double check:

  • Fish price
  • Chopped Fish price
  • Price age
  • Fish quantity available
  • Buy orders if you plan to use them
  • Sell orders
  • Marketplace fees
  • Chopped Fish yield
  • Break even price
  • Profit
  • ROI

Use the Chopped Fish Calculator to find the opportunity.

Then confirm the important numbers in game before spending your silver.
