Dragonfire Patch 3: All Buffs & Nerfs (Pre-Patch)

Upcoming Albion Online balance changes bring major buffs and nerfs to weapons, armor, mounts, and Hellgates.

Another set of balance changes is coming to Albion Online, bringing buffs and nerfs to weapons, armor, mounts, and Hellgates.

Some of the biggest changes include major buffs to Twinslayers, Stillgaze Staff, and Hellfire Hands, while Crossbows, Rotcaller Staff, Phantom Twinblade, and several other popular options are getting nerfed.

These changes are still in testing and may change before reaching the live servers.


Crossbows

— NERF

has been dealing too much effective damage in small scale PvP and PvE.

  • Damage: 130 → 119
  • 8.5% damage nerf

Because has a very short cooldown, this should noticeably reduce its sustained damage over longer fights.


Cursed Staffs

— NERF

has been dominating 5v5 content, so will be available less frequently.

  • Cooldown: 30s → 35s
  • 16.7% cooldown increase

The healing negation itself remains unchanged, but enemy healers will have a larger window before the next .


Daggers

— BUFF

on the is becoming much less punishing to use.

  • Self damage: 4% → 2.5%
  • Maximum self damage: 24% → 15%
  • 37.5% reduction in self damage

This should make significantly safer, especially when you can't maintain full damage uptime.

— BUFF

Twinslayers are receiving one of the biggest buffs in this update.

  • Floating ring damage: 27 → 36
  • Total damage: 324 → 432
  • 33.3% damage increase
  • Floating ring size increased by 1.5m
  • Total area is approximately doubled

The initial will now cover a much larger area while also dealing significantly more damage.


Fire Staffs

— BUFF

's is becoming smoother to use.

  • Stand time: 0.4s → 0.25s
  • 37.5% reduction

You'll be able to start moving sooner after casting .

— NERF

's main ability will be available less frequently.

  • Cooldown: 40s → 45s
  • 12.5% cooldown increase

This gives opponents a larger window to fight, chase, or escape after has been used.


Holy Staffs

— NERF

is losing a significant amount of damage against players.

  • Damage vs players: 136 → 115
  • 15.4% PvP damage nerf
  • Damage vs mobs remains unchanged

This only affects PvP, so 's PvE performance will remain the same.


Quarterstaffs

— NERF

's strong mobility will now require more energy.

  • Energy cost: 5 → 7
  • 40% energy cost increase

Repeatedly using will put significantly more pressure on your energy during longer fights.

— NERF

is being pushed further toward its identity as a damage focused Quarterstaff.

  • Slow effect removed

Its damage remains unchanged, but enemies will now have an easier time moving away from .


Shapeshifter Staffs

Crystalburst — BUFF

is getting more offensive pressure in Crystal Cobra form.

  • Healing reduction: 20% → 35%
  • 15 percentage point increase
  • Instant damage: 66 → 75
  • 13.6% damage increase

The stronger healing reduction should make Crystalburst considerably more dangerous against healers and sustain heavy compositions.

— NERF

is becoming more expensive and slightly less defensive when used aggressively.

  • Energy usage: 11 → 16
  • 45.5% energy cost increase
  • Shield when jumping to enemy: 100 → 88
  • 12% shield nerf

Repeatedly using as an engage or escape will now put much more pressure on your energy.


Swords

— BUFF

is getting a small mobility buff.

  • Speed boost duration: 3.5s → 4s
  • 14.3% duration increase

Sword players will have slightly more time to land their next without losing the movement speed bonus.


War Gloves

— BUFF

are receiving a significant DoT damage increase.

  • DoT damage per tick: 18 → 24
  • Maximum DoT damage: 162 → 216
  • 33.3% DoT damage increase

The initial Boulder damage remains unchanged, but the burn from will now be significantly stronger.


Helmets

— NERF

is losing some of its extremely long range.

  • Maximum range: 21m → 18m
  • 14.3% range reduction

Players will need to get 3 meters closer to use , making long range poking less safe.

— BUFF

is gaining additional group utility.

  • Added resistance reduction: 0.08
  • Duration: 3s

Enemies hit by will now have reduced resistances, allowing both you and your allies to deal more damage to them.

— BUFF

is getting both higher uptime and stronger cooldown disruption.

  • Cooldown rate decrease: 50% → 66%
  • Cooldown: 25s → 20s
  • 20% cooldown reduction

should now be a more reliable anti stealth tool while also providing more value in smaller group fights.


Armors

— BUFF

's will be available more frequently.

  • Cooldown: 35s → 30s
  • 14.3% cooldown reduction

This should make it easier to match against important enemy buffs throughout a fight.

— NERF

is being pushed further toward defense and utility rather than damage.

  • Damage: 27 → 21
  • 22.2% damage nerf

The defensive effects and silence from remain unchanged.


Mounts

Fire Breath — BUFF

Firewing Drake is getting a significant buff aimed at solo Open World PvE.

  • Cooldown: 90s → 60s
  • 33.3% cooldown reduction
  • Ability slot: 3rd weapon → helmet

Fire Breath will now be available much more frequently while using the Firewing Drake in the Open World.


Hellgate Changes

Full stall compositions are also being targeted in Hellgates.

  • Lava now decreases defense vs players by 50%

Once the lava phase begins, players will become significantly more vulnerable to enemy player damage.

This should make it easier for damage focused compositions to kill stall teams instead of having both teams simply survive until the lava ends the fight.


Summary

This update includes a pretty even mix of buffs and nerfs.

Some of the biggest buffs are going to Twinslayers, , and .

Twinslayers get 33.3% more floating ring damage and approximately double the area, while receive 33.3% more DoT damage. gets both increased damage and much stronger healing reduction.

On the nerf side, loses 15.4% of its PvP damage, completely loses its slow, and becomes significantly more expensive to use.

These changes are still in testing and may be adjusted before they reach the live servers.
