How to play this Forgebark Staff build?

This build plays around controlling space with , building Thorns Charges, and then using your auto attacks for extra damage while keeping yourself alive with Fortify.

Starting the Fight

Start by placing where your opponent is moving and try to keep them inside the thorns as much as possible.

You can cast it up to 3 times, so you do not need to use every charge immediately. Keep placing new thorns as the fight moves.

Once you have built up Thorns Charges, weave auto attacks between your abilities to consume the charges and deal extra damage.

Your auto attacks also activate the , so they are an important part of your damage.

Using

Try to predict where your opponent is going instead of aiming directly at their current position.

The first hit deals some damage, but most of the value comes from the delayed brambles.

Landing the second hit gives you a strong burst of damage and knocks the enemy up, which can help you keep them inside your or give you time to reposition.

Fortify and Ensnare

You will use Fortify most of the time.

Use it when you start taking pressure rather than waiting until you are almost dead. The shield, healing, and increased healing received give you a strong sustain window.

Ensnare is more situational. You can switch to it when the extra healing is not as important and you want another way to keep an enemy in place.

Defensive Abilities

Use when your opponent commits to a strong damage window.

Do not use it just because they are attacking you. Try to save it for abilities that deal a meaningful amount of damage so you get more value from both the damage resistance and reflection.

With , use as your default option for additional defense and slows.

Switch to against builds that rely on an important buff that you need to remove.

are very strong for both chasing and disengaging.

Try to activate before you desperately need the movement speed since it needs time to build stacks.

At full stacks, you can use the movement speed to stay on top of ranged opponents, create distance from dangerous melee abilities, or reset the fight when needed.

General Tips

Keep fighting around your whenever possible.

Do not forget to auto attack after building Thorns Charges.

Use your when you have a good opportunity to commit damage instead of throwing it immediately at the start of every fight.

Your large health pool from ** and , combined with Fortify and your defensive abilities, means you can survive long fights. You do not need to force every damage window.

Control the area, keep applying pressure, and let your sustain give you the advantage over time.
